Slave Descendants File $1B Lawsuit

NEW YORK - Descendants of slaves filed a $1 billion lawsuit Monday against U.S. and British corporations, accusing them of profiting by committing genocide against their ancestors.

Lawyers for the eight plaintiffs said the complaint was the first slave reparations lawsuit to use DNA to link the plaintiffs to Africans who suffered atrocities during the slave trade.

The suit filed in federal court in Manhattan accuses Lloyd's of London, FleetBoston and R.J. Reynolds of "aiding and abetting the commission of genocide" by allegedly financing and insuring the ships that delivered slaves to tobacco plantations in the United States.

The defendants "have destroyed our national and ethnic identity," one of the plaintiffs, Deadria Farmer-Paellmann, said at a news conference announcing the suit. DNA testing has made a "direct connection" between Farmer-Paellmann and the Mende tribe in Sierra Leone, whose people "were kidnapped, tortured and shipped in chains to the United States," the suit said

I think we should point out to them the old adage by a very wise Jewish carpenter, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." Slavery was nothing new to African tribes since they also attacked neighboring territories and took slaves. When ex-slaves were repatirated to Africa after the Civil War, some of them purchased and/or took slaves. Even in America before the Civil War there were blacks who owned slaves. It's like sn-e3 said, it's all about the money.

My Great grand father fought for the Union during the Civil War and spent some time at Libby Prison can I sue the Southern States or get some money from these people if they win ?

There were more Chinese and Irish slaves that Black.
The Blacks in Africa captured there own race and sold them to slave traders who inturn brought them to United States,
White people didn't go to Africa and go hunting for slaves.
If anyone should be seued it should be the African people .


I would be happy to pitch in for there retrobution, One catch though, They have to all go back to Africa,
Where do I send the check?
