Direction - An Adjunct To Common Sense?

Well over two centuries ago, a brilliant American wrote a best-selling pamphlet entitled ?COMMON SENSE!? And although Thomas Paine died a virtual pauper and an alcoholic, the mechanism that made this man tick, his patriotism, and the convictions of his inner being, have been lost somewhere in the translation of political meaning!

Common sense, genuine integrity, a focused purpose, and unity (if we ever really had the later), have become the perennial victim of the liar, the user, the me-ist and the glib-tongued bull-shit artists of the twenty first century midway. It seems that no one is even expected to tell the truth anymore, let alone engage in anything as trivial as true honor, the Achilles Heel of the career politician, bureaucrat, and obedient tag along!?

Finger pointing has replaced the heroic stance, the believable lie has obliterated the unshakeable truth, and the good of the selected few, no matter who dies to perpetuate that bogus good, has become the enforced order of the day!

With elections looming large upon the immediate horizon, the push to transform the workable into a machine with enumerable parts and no real function, save for fertilizing an expensive fantasy, is again being foisted in our collective faces. The problem is, that like that helpless little bird in mom?s nest, we again are throwing our beaks open in anticipation of a coming feast!
