Are You Getting The Message Yet?
?EIGHT BILLION-IN TAX MONEY? that was allocated for rebuilding ?GROUND ZERO? (after the 9/11/2001 sneak attack against America) will be going (instead) into the pockets of already super rich contractors!
OK, so that in itself is no surprise, but a news piece that I just saw, has divulged that hundreds of millions of this money has ended up in the pockets of already, super wealthy contractors. Not to rebuild the site of the ?World Trade Center? mind you, but rather to build ?LUXURY OFFICE BUILDINGS? elsewhere in New York, and who knows where the Hell else?
Hey, some in politics are shouting: ?This will stimulate all of New York City?? But I ask you, is this not akin to a Big Apple version of the old (and failed) ?Trickle-Down Economy? theory of yore!
?Gee, I wonder if any of this huge fortune in tax dollars will go to build penthouse office suites, for any of the same oil company execs who are raping our nation, especially California, even as we speak??
Getting back to this BS about "Building New - Billion Dollar, Tax Funded, New York City Business Accommodations, elsewhere outside of Ground Zero", do you really believe that this will actually stimulate Ground Zero Itself?
Is this not akin (in my opinion) to gold-plating the streets of Beverly Hills! I mean, one could always claim that any enhancement to this already affluent bastion of big bucks will, by virtue of the fact that Beverly Hills is indeed part of Los Angeles?, benefit all of Los Angeles, Skid Row included!? (Screwed-up logic indeed!)
I guess that the same twisted logic could be brought into play, as relates to the current fuel situation! By grossly inflating fuel prices, the international oil moguls will have far more American money to invest abroad! This in turn will force Americans to work twice as hard for half the wages, resulting in a mean, lean population, which can always be called upon to engage in other economically-motivated wars!
If I am wrong in this assumption, it won?t be the first time, now will it? Well Hell, at least I will have some splendid company in this wrong-thinking! Did not George Washington warn that, and I quote again:
?It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world!?? I assume this means financially as well? But then, those now sticking it to us at the pumps, are domestic in nature, or so claims a poor, beleaguered OPEC?
But hey, after all, a few of our current honchos are so much smarter, wiser, tougher and wealthy than our outdated Founding Fathers. ?If you don?t believe that, just ask them - when they are not out busting their asses on bicycles that cost as much as some Americans make in a year?, that is!
VERITAS
