FIRST INDOCHINA WAR:
November 28, 1946 (Year of the Dog [Binh Tuat]): The French now control Ha?phong and part of its periphery, and the Viet Minh have retreated into the jungle.

November 1949 (Year of the Ox [Ky Suu]): Lt. Santini becomes the first French military helicopter pilot, and the only such pilot in all of Indochina until August of 1950 when he is joined by Sgt. Fumat. The "ventilators" they are flying are American-built Hiller 360 UH-12As.

November 28, 1953 (Year of the Snake [Quy ti]): Operation Castor update: The Autonomous Latoian Artillery Battery (BAAL) and its eight 105mm howitzers arrive at the Dien Bien Phu garrison, which at this point only consists of "French, Foreign Legion, Vietnamese, Arabic and African [soldiers], living in pup tents and cooking over small camp fires."

SECOND INDOCHINA WAR:
November 28, 1960 (Year of the Rat [Canh ty]): The new UH-1B model of the Army standard utility helicopter begins user evaluation testing.

November 28, 1965 (Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Defense): A US aircraft is hit by ground fire over North Vietnam and the pilot is forced to eject over the Gulf of Tonkin.

November 25, 1965 (Year of the Snake [At Ti]) (US Defense): Operation Bushmaster II begins.

November 28, 1966 (Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): Operation Charleston begins.

November 28, 1966 (Year of the Horse [Binh Ngo]) (US Counteroffensive Phase II): 155th AHC aircraft are diverted from a patrol lift to the site of a helicopter crash near the Ban Blech airstrip in Darlac Province.

November 28-30, 1967 (Year of the Goat [Dinh Mui]) (US Counteroffensive Phase III): The 135th AHC and other helicopter companies deploy three battalions of the US 9th Infantry Division in Phuoc Tuy Province.

November 18, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Operation Dawson River begins in Quang Tri Province.

November 28-29, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): US forces engage an enemy battalion northeast of Loc Ninh.

November 28, 1968 (Year of the Monkey [Mau Than]) (US Counteroffensive Phase VI): Operation Meade River update: Thanksgiving Day. BLT 2/26 and 2/5th Marines reach the Soui Co Ca. The 3/26th Marines relieve the 3/5th Marines along Route 4, and the 3/5 then attacks north toward a series of phase lines between the railroad berm and the Suoi Co Ca, followed by the 3/26th Marines. During the night, Marine artillery begins a heavy barrage and there is six hours of intense PsyOps loudspeaker but there is no sign of weakening on the enemy's part.
