Default 8 Million Iraqis Vote!

This is an historic day ! A cornerstone cast in Freedom has been laid in the foundation of democracy in Iraq,a footing in the building of a free people that will surely spread and stabalize the Greater Middle East.In spite of all the naysayers and enemies of America(foriegn and domestic),in spite of all the threats of death from al-Zarquari,bin Laden, etc.,the people of Iraq have spoken.None of this could have been possible if not for our brave and valiant Armed Forces led by a Commander in Chief with solid resolve.Watching the long oppressed people of Iraq dancing and singing and waving flags in the streets today reminded this veteran why I am who I am-One very proud American!God Bless Our Troops!

It would seem that the turnout and resolve of the Iraqis caught some US politicos and most of the US MSM with the wrong script in their hand and at a loss for words, or at least many positive words. As they regain their composure there is little doubt that every effort will be made to minimize and negate and otherwise bright day for the Iraqis and the brave souls running point, flank and six cover for the brave Iraqi voters. So Griz and all, I join your salute to those who make us proud to have worn the uniform and by their actions, remind us to keep the faith in those who serve.

We get about 30% of eligible voters in this country. Mainly because of the tough conditions we have in this country for voting. People are disenfrancised by having to stand in line for up to an hour, no coffee and doughnuts served while waiting, having to actually look and be able to read a ballot, and not enough volunteers to drive them to the polls. I'm going to have to agree with Kerry on this one, I mean, what's the big deal that they got over 60% turn out, had to walk miles to vote, had to stand in line for hours, and, oh, yeah, dodge mortars and suicide bombers just for the effort. Let's not get too excited about this. As Ted Kennedy says, the insurgents are winning the hearts and minds of the people, our occupying troops are losing the war.

People in this country need to be ashamed of themselves.

God bless our troops who proved today they won the war and are winning the peace. God bless the Iraqi's who took a historic step......right behind the Afghans...to do something that the nay-sayers said could not be done.

Freedom has a flavor to the protectors that the protected can never taste.

I salute the brave people of Iraq and our brave sevicemen and women who made it possible. I pray that the factions in Iraq can solve their differences with pen and paper instead of rifles and RPGs.
