Default pork BBQ ?

I have sampled BBQ all over the USA and every part of the country seems to be a little different. While on protracted "vacation" in Eufaula, Alabama..I decided to check out a restuarant I had seen advertised quite a bit called Phil's. The big billboards said "Best Butts in Alabama". I ordered the pork bbq plate and received one slice of white bread, cubed ..yes cubed pork bbq...bad slaw...some light brown sweet tasting sauce...and 4 dill pickles...I couldn't make this up....and a pitiful onion ring that might have got there by mistake....

if you want the best pulled pork BBQ in the world, come to Memphis, TN. !! We don't serve no stinking dill pickles ! LOL LOL

Larry,

I vote for Lexinton, NC BBQ. Best damn stuff I ever et.....next to Gimpy's receipe!

SC BBQ is a yellow mustard base. I like it...but Lexington's still the best. Well, haven't tried Memphis but will then vote again.

Sonny's' BBQ sounds much better than that place in Ala you ate at Larry, I think Woody's BBQ does better than Sonny's though! My wife cooks a pretty good Boston Butt she marinates it over night with Zesty Italian and smokes it on our cooker with some Hickory or pecan wood for that smoky flavor Now for local BBQ here in Nahunta,GA the Ol' Geechys' BBQ shack in town cooks some good ribs and pulled Pork

I wanted to eat BBQ shrimp and grits when I visited Paco last year but that Red lobster type place didn't have them. I had to settle for plain Shimp and Grits If it wasn't for Paco I would never have tried them but to my surprize they were truley delious and the she crab soup down there is to die for. Paco I shall Return ya'll hear?

Best pork bar-b-q I ever had was at Old Salem Village in Winston-Salem, NC. It was served at the tavern where (you guessed it) George Washington once slept. Good stuff!

But if you want really good Italian food, go the the North End in Boston; Hanover Street in particular. I personally recommed La Dolce Vita. Great food, atmosphere, and service. The owner is real character, too.

If you got a good BBQ sause, send it on. I'm getting tired of all the store brands. I've tried to put one together but can't quite get what I want.
