During a routine patrol in Baghdad June 2, Army Pfc. Stephen Tschiderer, a medic, was shot in the chest by an enemy sniper, hiding in a van just 75 yards away. The incident was filmed by the insurgents.

Tschiderer, with E Troop, 101st ?Saber? Cavalry Division, attached to 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was knocked to the ground from the impact, but he popped right back up, took cover and located the enemy?s position.

After tracking down the now-wounded sniper with a team from B Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Iraqi Army Brigade, Tschiderer secured the terrorist with a pair of handcuffs and gave medical aid to the terrorist who?d tried to kill him just minutes before.

Good report and I bet that terrorist was sure surprised at the Good Med Treatment his victim responded with! On the other hand the Medic if captured by the same scum bucket would probably be missing his head and they call us the Bad Guys on the News Shows

I watched that story earlier today on CNN. Very cool indeed that our people over there are like that. It has to be hard to do that but he did what a GOOD person would do. Who is willing to bet the insurgent would of not of been so helpful?

Got this in an e-mail a few days ago and what impressed me was the young trooper`s resolve to get out of the line of fire and collect himself.I was thinking that had that been me,I probably would have switched my weapon to rock `n roll,returned fire,used all my ammo,and been shot several more times.
A testament to good training,I`d say.
