Granted, when Democrat Politics and/or feigned liberalism with typical phoney displays of concern for The People's well beings (especially during disasters) surface or come to light and become part of the big picture, poor folks and the sick and disabled not able fending for themselves,...more often than not usually suffer A Double Shellacing.

Still, and in fairness, even those more affluent, healthy and self-sufficient similarly stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time, also take their chances with BOTH dangerously inept and ill-prepared politicians, and also a quite dangerous Mother Nature.
Sad, but true.

The latest good example (actually a quite disgusting example) of how some politicians fail miserably at what should be their main or uppermost concern of protecting and saving the very lives of their constituants,...occured both during and after Hurricane Katrina. The Democrat Leaders of both New Orleans and The State of Louisiana actually proved such a sad reality themselves.

Another sad reality being that some Democrats in control of locales or states usually: "Talk The Talk" better than most and/or exceptionally well (actually how acquiring such high offices). Unfortunately, such Democrats actually,realistically and rarely (if ever?): "Walk The Walk" whatsoever. All alluded to more so big on deceptive rhetoric and/or political bull,...and quite small on dependability, reliability and results (believability also).

In essence, fervently believe or believe in Democrat Leaders in general for ones safety, security and well being,...and one might just as well believe in either: "The Tooth Fairy" or The ACLU for same.

Whatever, and even though: "The Big Easy" was devastated worse than ever before in its history, one must see some humor in a recently reported official absurdity. The total failure at doing his job when desperately needed Mayor Nagin, was attempting to override U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen's orders and authority, by telling him how and when to re-populate, utilize assets best, and restore all necessary services for New Orleans, and/or basically...HOW TO DO HIS JOB.
Truly funny, astounding and absolutely amazing!!!,...considering.

Since The U.S. Coast Guard already (QUITE DIFFERENTLY also) functioned magnificently by SAVING THOUSANDS during: "Katrina", why-on-earth start taking advice or directions from a previously inept failure or one just fiddling-around at such? Therefore, I must believe something like the following must've gone through The Commanding Admiral's mind,...if not much more (possibly expletive deleted?).

"Some Democrat Politicians truly have Some OUTSTANDING Gall, and especially since fully aware that We of The U.S. Coast Guard and The U.S. Military do our jobs quite well and accomplish our missions quite well". "We're not politicians". "Our mandates and oaths taken, actually mean quite a lot to We: 'Duty, Honor, Country' types".

"And besides,...whom in their right minds would even consider taking countering orders from any proven inept and ill-prepared failures and/or grossly derelict of duty types, anyway"?

Regardless, and a would be: "Born Again (Mayor)" due threatening Hurricane Rita and that his new concern plays well for The Public aside,...please accept my apology for putting words in you mouth (or head), Admiral. But, since seeming an honest, forthright, righteous and dependable sort and/or no-nonsense type on TV,...didn't think you would mind too-damn-much?

Besides, how dare any politician try countermanding your explicite and direct orders from The Commander-In-Chief?
SUCH TRULY IS: "Some OUTSTANDING Gall". Don't you think?

Just out of curiosity Admiral,...was I very far off target or a: "Maggie's Drawers" with my shots? As a once: "Expert", I would sure like knowing such?

When the Mayor gave Admiral Thad Allen one of those cheesy "I heart NOLA" me and the wife about fell over laughing I can see it know Thad goes home to the wife and Kids and tells them " I went to New Orleans to save them and all I got was this cheesy T-Shirt" (LOL)

even banquets paid for by The American Taxpayer (AS ALL ELSE).

and Dependable types like The Admiral and His Team,...

But, and like it or not, that's pretty-much how
sick America has sadly become.
It seems that Political Bull is all that matters to The

"nods" yep,Neil I read an email about a lady in Houston that went to the Astrodome to Volunteer to help the refugees that were invited by the big hearted folks in Texas .She worked ONE day at the George R. Brown convention Center. She was treated like scum for trying to help the ingrates that were enjoying the Hospitality of Texas. She was called a cracker and other terms she quit the next day.
Today on the news I saw an interview of the remaining refugees(about a thousand) as they were boarding the bus to Ft Chafee, Arkansas.Were they happy to have a shelter to go to ? Nope! the majority was complaining that they didn't want to go to Arkansas "Bill Clinton's home state" but to stay in Houston,Texas where the welfare dollars are bigger! No wonder they all wanted to stay in Lovely Houston Texas

You once again nailed it good and proper,...even though no politician, beaurocrat, comptroller and/or people responsible for doling-out, dispensing or distributing The American Taxpayer's Monies to those On Welfare or in need (both here and anywhere else on earth),...would ever dare admit such.

That's right. Pickins are always much better most everywhere far North, East or West of New Orleans, for those poor and and in need of Public Assistance. Plus, pickins are even much better for the many not on welfare and/or just quite suspect of how their livings were/are actually derived (whether citizen, criminal, gang member, criminally illegal alien or terrorist), far North, East or West of N.O.

Thus, it's no wonder that only about half of: "Katrina" evacuees queried would even consider returning to New Orleans.
No sane people like taking big cuts in pays and lowering of lifestyles,...even when TOTAL FREEBIES Paid For Entirely By The U.S. Taxpayer, or loosing out on more affluent victims.

Besides, poor folks, citizens, criminals, gang members, criminally illegal aliens or terrorists, should never be automatically considered stupid. The only TRULY stupid people in America are undoubtedly those in authority, whom cannot or refuse to destinguish between Poor American Citizens,...and all others alluded to (the actually quite stupid and/or politically-correct American norm).
