Question Mandatory Lectures On Ethics At White House?

ETHICS - ?The philosophy or system of morals, the study of human conduct, with emphasis on the determination of right and wrong!?

?Boy are we in trouble!!?

According to what I just read out of the Associated Press, "Mandatory Lectures on Ethics at the White House (and maybe throughout the entire government)" have become the order of the day! That makes it quite obvious, at least to me that: ?If you have to teach it, it wasn?t there to begin with!?

All 3000 employees of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue are finally being taught the difference between right and wrong (amazing)! And as such, I ask you - ?Is the President saying that before this time, these highly placed, government officials had no idea what ethics were all about??

Now just think about this for a moment -

We are talking about people here with the lives and well being of over 300,000,000 Americans in their hands, the safety of our entire military and economy at stake, and maybe even the ongoing existence of mankind in question! And for the most part, these are individuals with advanced degrees, as well as experience and responsibilities that are beyond the understanding of most of us common folks!

To complicate matters even more, it is these people who insist on telling us all how to live our lives and conduct our affairs! And yet, these are the demigods that have to be taught the true meaning of ethics and integrity?

Again - ?WE ARE INDEED IN DEEP TROUBLE!?

I suppose that we should be thankful for one thing however, ?No one has to teach these same people the meaning of arrogance, self-gratification, corruption or abuse of power, as far too many of them already have it down to an art!"

Rick.......................Looks like they're about 5 years LATE for this 'class' on ethics!

You're absolutely right about "WE ARE INDEED IN DEEP TROUBLE" my friend!

Unhappy

FRIEND GIMPY et al-

I noted a few days back where a couple of site patriots accused me of leaning toward a political side that was the opposite of theirs - tisk-tisk! Anyone who has been on here for a while knows that I attack in both directions. I march to but a single drummer, and he is perched inside my own head!

This ethics thing is a no-brainer - either you have them or you do not! And I love it when people, even intelligent ones, bark on political command, even when (down deep) they know that their task master is all wet! Or when they ignore a cornucopia of facts to concentrate upon a single issue that could be translated either way. "In other words, they are quite willing to overlook a bucket of crap in favor of a teaspoon of rainbows!"

Gimpy, your right - this ethics re-training is pure baloney!! When you have to train an already instilled politician on the true meaning of ethics, then that person (or people) is/are sorely lacking! And although loyalty is a laudable trait, there comes a time when this nation has to be concerned about #1 (The nation itself), and not "Power for the sake of power alone!"

And to accuse a person of being controlled by one faction or another without any basis in fact, and this just because (as Neil would put it) you fail to bow down to lords and masters, even when you feel that they are dead wrong, is political subservience and nothing more!

No man (or woman) regardless of party is ever always right or always wrong! And of late, I have seen enough fatal wrong emanating from the powers that be to convince me that change is not only needed but essential!

I am not a political hit-man! I could give a damned less what party controls the reins, just as long as that party is American first, politico second! And as far as any cute remarks about how I feel, or how I believe, let me remind those behind them that: "At least I still think for myself and not from the center of any totally vested political fog bank!"

If a political party does (what I perceive to be) something wrong, I will sound off loud and clear. And to dwell upon a single (or a few) things that one has done that was positive, while ignoring a stadium full of screw-ups, is not my way!

"ETHICS TRAINING INDEED" - And again, why should this training even be needed. If a "Power That Is" has finally become convinced that this trait is lacking in his (or her) administration, I ask you: "Was this not obvious long before this amazing epiphany finally struck home?"

"And how in the hell, hypothetically speaking,, could any individuals rise so high while lacking in integrity or a sense of truth?"

"So now we can attempt to close the old barn door, but unfortunately, the barn may already be in danger of burning to the ground!"

Each day I start to loose more and more confidence in the people in government. Good system of governemnt, just a bunch of power hungry idiots running it.
