New Green Cards By The Hundreds of Thousands

President Bush said Monday he wants to crack down on those who enter the country illegally but also give out more visas to foreigners with jobs, a dual plan he hopes will appease the social conservatives and business leaders who are his core supporters.

"The American people should not have to choose between a welcoming society and a lawful society," Bush said from the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base about an hour from the Mexican border. "We can have both at the same time."

The touchy issue of immigration has divided lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., said he will bring up the issue early next year. The House hopes to tackle some border security measures before adjourning for the year, but little time remains and it has other issues on its plate.

Bush also pitches his plan in El Paso, Texas, on Tuesday. Texas and Arizona are home to GOP senators who have been vocal on the need to change immigration laws but who aren't entirely sold on Bush's vision.

NOW EXPLAIN THIS TO ME? - ?HOW CAN OUR NATION CRACK DOWN ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, AND IN THE SAME BREATH, ISSUE THOUSANDS MORE GREEN CARDS and/or VISAS TO THESE VERY SAME ILLEGALS - AND BOTH AT THE SAME TIME??

How can you acknowledge the evils of illegal immigration, and at the same instance, push to up the number of Green Cards & Visas , to who knows what level, in order to pacify certain vested factions who demand that the "Laws Of The Land" not apply to them?

You know - "There may eventually be no such thing as an illegal in the U.S., as every alien in country will soon be able to reach into his back pocket and pull out a Green Card or a Visa to fall back upon!" And as far as that goes, what about the part of this piece that was quoted above that implied that: "Every illegal with a job promise in the United States almost automatically gets a Visa?"

Hell, if this comes to pass, every factory, farm, ranch etc. that is actively seeking out extremely low-paying, imported labor, will gladly proclaim that all of their workers are gainfully employed and should be granted legal status! As such, they get to stay here indefinately and remain free to further deteriorate our economy, if there is anything left of our economy to deteriorate by that time?!

Could this eventually lead to a lowering, if not abandonment of Minimum Wage Laws? There are some who would love to see this come to pass you know! And could you work and support your family on the same pay that some of these aliens are willing to work for?

If this becomes fact, before long, it may be we ?Norte Americanos? that will be forced to carry a ?Green Card?ourselves? Either that or we may get deported to the south-side of the ?International Border? to fill the population gap created there by that growing army of former illegals who are now residing here in the United States? (Confusing, isn't it?)

And for the record, no one in government and/or big business does anything without a purpose! As such, what is the purpose (agenda) of those now advocating an open border? Cheap labor, so-called human rights, the weakening of our sovereignty perhaps, the seizure back of vast treks of our lands, or all of the above maybe? "How can anyone (or group thereof), advocate this "Assisted Invasion" and still claim to be a patriotic American?"

?Maybe I am missing something here in the translation, but it seems to me that handing out ?Green Cards (or Visas) By The Bushel? to people who will merely melt into the back alleys of our already beleaguered U.S. society (should their jobs evaporate), is hardly the solution to a mounting problem!! Or do you really believe that these individuals will voluntarily pack their bags and go home if the labor market dries up for them, as it has for many thousands of legal, hard-working U.S. citizens of all nationalities?

And what of the mounting crime rates that the media attributes to portions of this once illegal group? Or will they also be issued a ?Get Out Of Jail Free Card as well as a Visa in the near future??

Hell, by the time that we are done, there will be no need for borders, ?Green Cards or Visas' , as everyone who once resided to the south of the Rio Grande will already be here upon our once sovereign soil - HEY, PROBLEM SOLVED?

?Now do you really believe that this problem will just go away by printing up a few hundred thousand more Green Cards or issuing a plethora of new Visas?? All that this will accomplish is to encourage more dead wood to trample upon our doorsteps and take, take, take!! "And this you can count upon!"

?Of course again, these are but my own uneducated opinions and my very last words on this particular subject. After all, if segments of the Powers That Be don't care, then why in the heck should I?

The latest news out of these parts is that the alien ID cards are not the only green thing in trouble hereabouts! It seems, according to a news report that aired last night, that some of the green uniforms worn by our (U.S.) Border Patrol are themselves "HECHO EN MEXICO" (Made in Mexico) (GO FIGURE).

Gee, I wonder if the Mexican manufacturers are planting a tracking device in these Mex-Made Uniforms so that they can keep tract of where our Border Patrol Agents are, from one minute to the next?
