Private Stash?

With the news echoing aloud of attorneys who represent no one but themselves, in that they file suits with no clients, it comes as no surprise to learn that much of the massive funds from that tobacco lawsuit are being diverted as well!

As many politicians are schooled in law, to learn that a massive $100,000,000 is to be ravished from the nationwide tobacco settlement, not to treat those adversely affected by tobacco problems, but rather to cover the loses that San Diego government heaped upon themselves through pure stupidity and greed (opinion).

Is money from a settlement that should be going to help cure the damages of years of tobacco addiction, both to the user and those who passively were damaged by cigarette smoke as well, now to be used as a private stash of government for other unrelated purposes - apparently so! And for the record, those non-smokers who suffered from so-called passive smoke just as severely as those who lit-up, have been pushed to the background, much in the same fashion as many other hapless victims of other travesties have been in the past!

Allowing city (or any other) government to dip into funds that have been slated for other purposes, and thereby making the victims - victims again, is wrong, but unfortunately typical in today?s world! ?When will we ever learn - never I suspect??

With the current news coming out of D.C., it is apparent that it is not just lawyers that are in business for themselves? A few in government still refuse to face the fact we have some big problems. Problems that infect some high places, as is evident from the news of late!
