Pack,

Yes and no. My parents always had a cake and presents for me and my aunt (godmother) always sent a gift. My mother still bakes a cake and a pie for me but I told her we would get together this Friday when my brother comes in from upstate New York.

Bummer (at the time) was that I never really had a birthday party like some other kids and my brothers and sister since school was out and kids were on their Christmas vacations.

My wife and kids threw a big party when I hit 50 but I told them no party this time when I'm now hitting 60.

I still kid my mother that she just held one or two gifts back from Christmas for my birthday

My 3-year old granddaughter will be saying that to her parents when she gets a little older. Her birthday is December 23rd.
