THE ECONOMY vs MAYHEM?
?What in the Hell is wrong with these people?? The media/political trend these days seems to be one of pitting our fading economic power up against a world situation that is fast going to Hades! We are militarily engaged in Iraq, could be soon at war against Iran, North Korea, and a myriad of other backstabbing wannabes! And what is the focus of the Powers That Be - the almighty buck! A buck that stops here, or more accurately, in the bottomless pockets of some people who appear to value personal affluence above the common good, or rather the well being of our gallant military! It is a toss up as to whether the media spends more time addressing the economy or the ongoing war in the Middle East. Worse yet, many seem not to be able to distinguish between the two? And while we concentrate on the conflict against international terrorism, the money and arms brokers go gleefully about their business - isn?t there something wrong with this picture, or at the least, the projectionist? If what we are seeing in the news is to be believed, then their are many in government who play one against the other (the economy against warfare), instead of realizing that it is a helluva lot easier to replace the fortunes of the insider few than it is to rebirth the dead! Granted, wars are a fact of life (or is that death), but to compare profits and casualty figures is a travesty against all that we stand for! ?Apparently, things have not changed all that much since the onslaught of Revolutionary War Robber Barons, the yellow journalism of the Spanish American War era, and the money and blood politics and reporting of today? ?To report on a war and American casualties, and then war profits and it?s impact upon the economy in the same breath (and in the same sentence), is akin to discussing Adolph Hitler and sainthood in a Vatican forum, in my opinion!?? VERITAS and FAIR THEE WELL (Truth)
