![]() PAY UP OR DIE!!
Not since the Barbary Pirates of some two centuries ago, has the Middle East held us up to extortion in a fashion similar to today! “The only problem is that, back then, we had politicians and businessmen who were genuine patriots and had true grit!” Every day, the banner of each and every news rag in the nation slaps us in the face with a headline of - “The price of oil rises to a new high!” And every day, we prove that we will do nothing about it [within the law] but rather sit back and take it upon the chin! It is sought of like us rising from slumber on 7 December 1941, learning of the attack upon Pearl Harbor, then rolling over and going back to sleep! Don’t we realize that Americans are dying in the Middle East, and this is in no small part because of oil! Hell, even Japan went to war with us some six plus decades ago, partially because of oil! “And who would have ever thought that a few million tons of rotting vegetation and animal decay would cause so much grief in eons to come?” “You had better have no doubts about it - this too is war and the weapon of choice is petroleum!” Our foes are some of the oil producing nations of the world, the cartels, those who manipulate gas and food prices on a daily basis, and a few of the governments of the world themselves! Americans are dying in this conflict! Maybe not from Japanese Dive Bombers, strafing Zeros, or even outright sabotage, but they are dying, or at the very least, being turned into “Subservient Third World Yes-Men”, especially when the buzzards pulling the strings on fuel prices, domestic and foreign alike, get their way, as they always do! “Beware of those who are hiding behind the scene, pulling the strings and proclaiming their innocence or ignorance! For abject greed knows no limitations, ignorance no boundaries, and betrayal is not limited to nationality!” (hrt-16 May 2008) These are, of course, my own personal opinions! VERITAS (Truth)

![]() this is a really complicated topic. But anyone could see this coming with the US's decades long unchecked rush to oil addiction. Though the rest of the worldd has suffered high gas prices for decades, the US just kept turning out gas guzzlers. Many people have spoken out about the Us'S oil addictiojn but no one has done anything about it..
Certainly, there's been no effort at all on the part of the current administration to curtail oil usage in this country, all their effort has been to allow more drillling----which only feeds the addiction, it in no way deals with the root of the problem. The Middle East doesn't hold us hostage over oil---we hold ourselves hostage over oil. here's a partial solution: outlaw professional auto racing----how many milions of gallons is wasted with high powered cars chasing each other around a track? Soon these will have gone the way of the buggy whip and chariot races. But how many people are willing to give up NASCAR? Not the Repuglicans, its too much of their base.

![]() GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!
Your being downright silly expecting people to believe that only: "Repuglicans" would not be; "Willing to give up NASCAR". Bet-cha there are just as many Fanatical Dim Hacks like yourself not willing to give up NASCAR, also. Besides, aren't ether, nitro, alcohol & ethanol blends better for speed, anyway? Neil

for some odd reason I can't seem to paste the article so you'll have to access it yourselves. Basically it says our "allies" in Saudi Arabia aren't going to increase oil production.

![]() We had a chance in the 70s to solve this...........
Since Bush II has been President the cost of oil per barrel has went from $ 26 to $ 127 per barrel. Coincidence ? I think not. Larry

![]() Good Point!
Still,...don't see what most entire world acceptance of purposefully manipulated & rigged (as wanted) oil prices have to do with: "Capitalism & Free Market". Whatever, hope such easy profiteering, price-gouging and/or grand-scale rip-offs don't catch-on & preclude our being just as easily screwed-over with any other of our natural resources or necessities needed for survival? Besides, wasn't' such corporate or cartel greed being daily perpetrated on The Public,... once regulated from happening? Wha-hoppened? Thought deregulation supposed to be good,...and especially with OUR National Resource? Neil

![]() Hey..this is global capitalism at its finest. Maximum profits & stock prices..and damn the public good. How do you regulate a multinational. If they do something considered illegal in the US but do the deed in, say, Pakistan where it is legal, who has jurisdiction? Not in the US..our political betters are big fans of this globalization...keeps their campaign coffers full & prevents them from flipping burgers at MickeyD's.
God help us if the global capitalists get control of the food supply. Or water. |

![]() "Global Capitalism" doesn't seem bothering OTHER Oil Exporting Nations
like Venezuela, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, etc., etc.,...just to mention a few. How come they don't force their people to buy fuels at ridiculously high and/or at the manipulated World Spot Price, as Americans, Europeans and some others forced paying or going without? No countries mentioned have price regulations on anything and yet still have reasonable prices for fuel, which both good for people and economies. Can't our policy makers do just as well,...IF WANTING TO? Neil
