A squad of leathernecks from Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting unit, Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton, Calif., rushed in to douse a training fire, while another squad contained the blaze from the other side. The Marines often utilize this burn pit to maintain a high level of preparedness for real aircraft emergencies.
