War Cross (1939-1945)



This new War Cross, that was similar to the War Cross 1914-1918 but with a different ribbon and another date (1939) on the reverse, war created on 26 September 1939, by Edouard Daladier.



As with the type of the First World War this cross was meant to show the recipient's bravery and individual citations are destignated by stars or palms on the ribbon. The Cross can be awarded to members of all ranks of the army, navy and airforce.
