Using a schematic of the flight deck and templates representing the various types of aircraft, an Aviation Boatswain's Mate tracks the location of each plane. Even though the flight deck is 4? acres, the size and number of today's aircraft requires careful placement to ensure the "ready" aircraft are in position for launch. This tracking is done from Flight Deck Control. The table on which the flight deck is represented is referred to as the "Quija board." Lincoln and Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are conducting combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch.
