USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN 705) passes the Apra Harbor breakwater at Orote Point. She will be part of Submarine Squadron 15 (SUBRON 15). The Navy had announced the reactivation of SUBRON 15 in February 2001 and that three Los Angeles-class submarines would be stationed in Guam. After 20 years of dormancy, the squadron was reactivated to support the homeporting of the three Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarines, of which City of Corpus Christi is the first.
