A side-scan sonar unit is lowered into the waters off the coast of California during Fleet Battle Experiment Juliet (FBE-J). Sonar is used to locate underwater mines, to enable safe navigation of amphibious forces to reach the shoreline, during exercises in support of ?Millennium Challenge 2002.?
