Function: These boats were designed primarily to service aids to navigation within the inland waters of the United States. However, the 55'ANB is often employed to service offshore aids as well. In addition to their primary responsibilities, ATON boats also support other U. S. Coast Guard missions to include Marine Environmental Response and Port Safety and Security.
