A U.S. soldier rests while on patrol near Harir airbase north of Arbil, in Kurdish-controlled northern Iraq on Friday. Journalists arriving at Harir airstrip saw transport helicopters, vehicles and troops that had come in overnight after a first wave of 1,000 paratroopers arrived on Thursday.
