A U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Craft (SWIC) crewman sits beside his .50 caliber machine gun mounted on the back of a Special Operations Craft - Riverine as it transits through Iraq's southern waterways. Navy Special Warfare forces are patrolling the waterways following operations that cleared Iraqi waterways of mines and rogue vessels to make way for the arrival of humanitarian relief shipments to the port of Umm Qasr in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
