Andy,
I think you make an eloquent point.

I don't doubt that so many people are still living in the hells of war. And for them my heart breaks, truly it does. But, to be honored for taking your own life is really the message that would be sent. When someone does that it doesn't really stop the pain, it only compounds it. Look at what this man's brother has gone through as a result. He is in anguish over this. Would he feel so strongly had his brother died of old age? Probably not.
Should he be buried in hallowed ground, in a sanctioned veteran's cemetary? Certainly and with full military honors. I believe that he's even eligeable for a spot at Arlington if one is still available. Being a POW gave him that special privilege without question.
There are so many ways in which we can pay tribute and honor the sacrifices this man has made.

But the wall is for those who didn't ever really have a chance to come home.
I've been to the wall several times. The first time I saw it I felt numb from head to toe. If you have never been there...go! Then you will understand why I agree with Andy.

Yeah, Andy and DL have it right. He needs his own special honor and that is for being a POW. Plus Arlington and the works. No dishonor at all.

I'm with Andy and DL on this, for the reasons already stated. Nothing to add.
