National Night out

Last night we took the truck around the hood to a bunch of block parties. Each one was happy to have a fire truck at there party and we got to eat a lot.
Did anyone do anything in there state for National night out, ?
Or is this not really National.

Yea, we had similar block parties in our city. They have played a big part in changing the landscape of some neighborhoods. Great idea

About 8 years ago we started having them. At first it was a very big deal but in the last few years they have drawn less and less people. It seems the same civilian's get involved each year and the thing has become quite stale.

National Night Out, the 4th of July fire works, and First Night, a party on December 31th, are all big nights for houses being broken into. That may also have a negative impact on the "party".

That's kinda like what happened in Davenport, IA the other day when both Kerry and Bush were within a few blocks of each other stumping for votes...and 3 banks were robbed! I think the political rallies were just diversionary tactics by both parties in order to raise funds!

We have one in our development each year and most places around here. It is a good chance to see all of your neighbors and chit-chat.
