Another Invasion From The South!

Illusive as some illegals may be, yet another full-scale invasion has been mounted from south of the International Border with Mexico!! And as difficult as illegal foot activity may be to stem, when it comes on wings, it poses even a bigger dilemma!

So what is this ?Micro Luftwaffer? and from whence does it come? And will this blitzkrieg pose as large a danger as did the boys of the Third Reich!!!?

The villains in this scenario is not armed with tanks or dive bombers, but rather with voracious appetites and an open border, due to their stealthy attack! This danger is not clad in uniform, but rather in the same accoutrements that have served it well for centuries!!

So again, who and what in the Hell is this clear and present danger - ?THE MEDITERRANEAN FRUIT FLY? that?s who!!

It seems that like one of the initial immigration problem of yore (the entrance of Asian Illegals over our southern borders nearly a century ago, followed by a mass influx of hard working, hard-pressed Hispanics traversing the same route), other species have now followed the leader to the Land of (once) Golden Opportunity!

No, it?s not the African Killer Bees this time, nor is it the myriad of other insectoid vermin that have crawled and slithered their way across our borders of late! Rather, it is a slimy little army of pains in the asses (and pocket book) by the name of the Mediterranean Fruit Fly. This unwelcome invader can eat it?s way through our produce, faster than the grasshoppers once chomped up the area, in and around Salt Lake City!

A full-scale effort (?) is now underway to eradicate these pesky little critters before they get a foothold and develop a taste for Yankee-Style-Grub! As a matter of fact, the attack is on (by our Uncle Sam) to knock off these bugs before they can sex it up, all the way from Tijuana, BC Mexico, north into the heart of the United States! Of course, Tijuana, always known as a place to get a little, is now seeking to return the favor by exporting it?s army of creepy-crawlers (and flyers) on the make - ?NOWADAYS, HOWEVER, IT?S AN ARMY OF UNDOCUMENTED FRUIT FLIES!!?

Well, you had better hope that Vicente Fox, or his peers, don?t get wind of our attempts to evict the damned old fruit fly, lest he again cry on the shoulder of President Bush, again claiming prejudice!? This time by championing the rights of the fruit flies of the world! After all, Fox and his cohorts again say that - they were here first!?

But what the Hell, Fox, our Prez, and a few well-healed farmers, can always demand hefty compensation (charity to the rich) for fixing prices on next year?s fruit and veggies! To use their screwed-up logic- ?Some vested blood-suckers are merely doing us the favor by starving our middle class, elderly, and our poor by eliminating our farm surplus - into the guts and out the asses of the Mederterainian Fruit Fly", so to speak!?
