PFC Jack Vanover of the 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Ky. is congratulated by his battalion commander Lt. Col. Edmund Palekas after reenlisting at "Ground Zero" in lower Manhattan on July 4. More than 350 soldiers from the battalion were guests of the New York/New Jersey Port Authority Police at the World Trade Center excavation site on the nation's 226th anniversary. Of those "Battle Force" troopers, 23 soldiers from the 327th took their oath of reenlistment at the site of the September 11 terrorist attack on New York City while the rest of the battalion reaffirmed its commitment to fight and win America's war on terrorism.
