New York/New Jersey Port Authority Police Officer Robert Harnett describes the magnitude of devastation at the World Trade Center excavation site to "Battle Force" troopers Captains Tony Jones and Shane Dentinger, 1st Sgt. Jeffrey Carey, and Sgt. Patrick Ferguson. More than 350 soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division from Fort Campbell, Ky. were guests of the Port Authority Police at "Ground Zero" in lower Manhattan July 4. On this, the nation's 226th anniversary, 23 soldiers from the 327th took their oath of reenlistment at the site of the September 11 terrorist attack on New York City while the rest of the battalion reaffirmed its commitment to fight and win America's war on terrorism.
