A Sailor aboard the Spruance-class destroyer USS Cushing (DD 985) salutes the U.S. National Ensign during morning colors. When the ship is in port, the flag flies at the stern from 8 a.m. to sundown. At sea, the flag is flown continually from the mainmast. Cushing is forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, supporting Seventh Fleet operations. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class David A. Levy.
