Worn from 1 March 1942 to 15 November 1953

Tab: "Lucky Seventh"

Activated at Camp Polk, Louisiana. The Arabic number seven shows the division's designation. The units nickname is attributed to a remark made by Major General Alvin Gillem, commander II Armor Corps, who said, "the Seveth Armored Division is lucky to have trained with the Third Armored Division and lucky to have the man it does as its commanding general."
