"On The Wings Of A Dove!"

No Night There

I hear of a City which lies
four-square
where The Lamb is
The Light thereof
and there is
no night
there.
I long to see that
City fair
and to find my place up
there
which Jesus has promised
in His Word;
a place where angelic
music is always
heard!
The nights here on Earth
are so very
long
and nightmares
drown out the angel's
song.
I did hear them once
when I was just
a lad
but World War Two
has taken too many of my
friends
and World War One
shortened the life of my
dad.
Did I
 tell you about the  long
dark nights which come too often
and stay too
long?
For more than sixty years
they've brought
the mares
and taken away my
song.
PTSD has been a part of
me
since the days of
World War
Two,
and I am grateful that the
long dark nights
are almost
through!
For I am going to that bright
celestial City
where there is no
night.
Perhaps, I can sit beside
that River of
Life
and write poetry
and learn to play the guitar
like Francis Goya
or play the
flute
like James Galway
and
David Fried
and it may be that God will
allow my Guardian
angel to
sit by my
side
and teach me to sing.
What an eternal day that will
be
when this old veteran
bids farewell to the long dark
nights of Earth
to sit beside the Crystal
Sea.
I hear that there are no sorrows
there,
no broken hearts made so
by those whom we thought were
friends,
but God, our broken hearts
shall mend!
How long, Lord, shall I wait
before I meet Jesus
at that Pearly
Gate?

I gladly sign my name
and plead
my second birth,
as I await my departure
from Mother
Earth...

LORD, I SAW WHAT YOU DID

    Lord, I saw what you did,
And what You did wasn't hid;
For down on the lake yesterday,
Five baby Canadians came to stay.

All life comes from Your hand,
Whether baby geese or man;
Canadian geese are welcome here,
Either on our lake, or by our pier.

Five precious little puffs of life,
With DNA from a papa and his wife;
I am thrilled to have them here,
On our shore, by our pier.

No wonder the nesting pair
Drove other geese from their lair;
You gave such instinct to geese,
To provide for their babies, peace.

Yes, I saw what You did on our lake,
And I'll never for granted take
All the things You say or do;
For they keep me trusting you.
