C. Douglas Caffey
THAT DAY . . .
The Father knows
the day and
the hour,
when He will
demonstrate His
power.
He will tell His
Son;
"Son, go get your
children, for
the time has
come."
Jesus will appear
in the
air,
and gather His
children
there!
What glory that
will be,
when The Lord
we shall
see!
Even so come
Lord Jesus!
Come
today;
come forever
to
stay!
The sentiments of
C. Douglas Caffey
and a host of
others!
OF WINDOWS AND BOOKS
There is a window
out of which I
look;
and there is a verse
from a book I
took.
Life is made from
windows and
books,
giving panoramic
views to all who
look.
The outside world
is open for
review,
whereupon, I
often think of
you.
For you are my world,
and of windows
and
books,
I'd give them all
to share your
looks!
Dr. C. Douglas Caffey,
a simple five minute
poem,
dedicated to
Helen.
(I will write the poem, then affix the title)
Way
out West
where
the wind
blows
free;
the
high desert
flowers
are
a sight
to
see.
Even
the weeds,
with
their
wicked
seeds,
bloom
in colors
of
every hue.
Surprise,
suprise!
Right
before
your
eyes
the
weeds are
flowers,
whetting your
appetite
for
hours!
Pregnant
colors
abound
over
all the
ground,
in
hues of green,
reds,
indigo,
and
all colors in
between!
Perhaps,
they like
people,
are
most beautiful
in
their maturing
years,
when
life is finished
with
its
tears!
WEEDS & SEEDS
Dr. C. Douglas Caffey
in his maturing
years
of yesterday's
past.
TITLE UNNAMED
As
I was walking
down
the road
today,
I
met a sparrow
on
the way.
Said
I to him,
why
not walk
the
broad
way?
Said
he to me,
my
name is
sparrow
and
I walk
the
way that's
narrow!
Reflecting
upon
his
answer,
I,
too
must
choose
to
walk the way
that's
narrow!
The
title now is;
The
Narrow Way!
Dr. C. Douglas Caffey,
walking the way
that's narrow!
ALL IS QUIET ON IWO JIMA
The sounds of war
so long ago
on the sulphur isle
of Iwo
Have finally died;
a lonely bird
crys for her mate,
no Marine is heard
But Marines were heard
six decades ago
for 7,000 died
on Iwo!
If you disturb
the black sand
the sound of "Medic"
comes from a dying man.
That man is a Marine
who will surely die
for the sounds of war
fill the Pacific sky!
On lonely Iwo
buried in black sand
are the bones of Marines
who fought man to man!
