Outcome: Jewish victory over the Romans Decisive battle

Overview: Jewish forces attacked a Roman army led by Cestius Gallus near the gorge of Beth-Horan outside of Jerusalem. Cestius was called by the procurator Gessius Florus to bring his army to Jerusalem in order because there was rising instability and rioting in his area. The Romans lost significant men while the Jewish force lost only 22 killed.
