USS LST-1130, a 2366-ton LST-511 class tank landing ship, was built at Chicago, Illinois. Commissioned in March 1945, she was in the western Pacific during the next year and a half. Still later, while operating in the Caroline Islands, she suffered severe damage during a grounding at Yap. Judged beyond economical repair, LST-1130 was decommissioned and abandoned in late March 1948.
