USS PC-802, 1945-1950

USS PC-802, a 173-foot submarine chaser, was built at Portland, Oregon. She was commissioned in January 1945 and served along the U.S. Pacific coast during the remainder of World War II. In August 1945, following assignment to the Pacific Fleet's Amphibious Force, she was reclassified PC(C)-802. The ship was decommissioned in April 1946 and stricken from the Navy List later in the year. Transferred to the Republic of Korea in early 1950 and renamed Sam Kak San (Korean Navy # PC-703), she remained in Korean Navy service until 1960.
