USS Garfield Thomas (DE-193), 1944-1951

USS Garfield Thomas, a 1240-ton Cannon class destroyer escort built at Newark, New Jersey, was commissioned in January 1944. She served Atlantic escort duties until July 1945, when she transferred to the Pacific. Garfield Thomas was decommissioned in March 1947. In January 1951, she was transferred to the Greek Navy, in which she served as Panthir into the 1990s.
