Manuel V. Domenech was a politician and a very active member of the Republican Party of Puerto Rico. He was a member of the first House of Representatives after the War of 1898, and was reelected in 1902 and 1904. In 1914 he was appointed to serve as Commissioner of Interiors, becoming one of the first Puerto Ricans to hold an officer's position in the Cabinet. Also, he was later appointed as Treasurer of Puerto Rico.
