The 3rd Brigade Combat Team executed Operation Spring Clean-up designed to take control of a stretch of road known as the Blue Babe Highway in Baqouba. The road is also known as RPG Alley for its numerous roadside bombs, IED and enemy activity.

Task Force 82 replaced the 3rd Brigade Combat team once control had been established.
