Vagabond AAF is at Yakima Training Center (YTC). Only rotary winged aircraft utilize this facility; fixed wing aircraft are not authorized. The existing runway is used as a hover lane for all approaches and departures. All repair and maintenance are conducted in such manner to accommodate rotary winged aircraft. The Contractor maintains and repairs the runway, taxi and parking areas to prevent rotary winged aircraft from foreign object damage (FOD). Repair of aircraft parking areas includes grading hover and parking areas to provide proper drainage, and grading stabilized areas to prevent ponding of water and irregularities in surfaces.

Selah Airstrip at Yakima Training Center (YTC) is approximately 4,600 feet in length and 75 feet in width plus overruns and associated parking areas.
